Our Summit Story

The sound of a fire crackling. The lights from the Christmas tree shimmering across the room. Surrounded by family, a drink in hand, and roast beef wafting throughout the house. When we think of the "family" in family-run business, these are the memories that come to mind. We're connecting our experiences and passion for food with each customer that steps through our door.

Our journey began decades ago with Lanovaz Family Foods opening in the small town of Duck Lake. This family-owned and operated business provided groceries, meat, produce, chicken, pizza, and other essentials to our little town for 75 years. The Lanovaz journey evolved again when we took over Bigway Foods in Shellbrook with Jody and Chrissy at the helm. Then in 2016, the road forked a final time for our family when Jason became the new owner of Summit Meats and Sausage here in the Sutherland area of Saskatoon. We're now into the fourth generation of Lanovaz' with nephews at both Shellbrook Bigway and Summit Meats here in the city.

Still committed to bringing this same close-knit family experience to the wonderful folks of Saskatoon, our staff is excited to grow with our customers to provide excellence in service and unmatched quality in product.
